Emco presents the VT 260 vertical turning machine featuring a FANUC 31i controller, rear chip ejection, driven tools, a Y axis and a hollow spindle drive. The machine is engineered in several versions: the VT 260 (ISM) with hollow spindle without driven tools; the VT 260 M (ISM) with driven tools and hollow spindle drive; and the VT 260 MY (ISM) with a Y axis on top. Equipped with a hollow spindle drive instead of a belt drive, all versions include a powerful 29-kW drive. The VT 260 MY offers a Y-axis travel of 180 mm (±90 mm). For all of the VT 260s, 12 VDI40 tools are mounted in the tool turret. The basic machine also includes a coolant device and a chip conveyor, promoting rapid, efficient chip removal.

These vertical turning machines are equipped with an integrated self-loading system. The integrated pickup system self-loads chuck parts with diameters ranging to 260 mm, saving the user the additional costs and programming time involved with the use of an add-on automated unit.

The high-power vertical spindle eases turning, drilling and threading operations. The rigid machine structure supports substantial cutting performance in serial production and is ideally suited for fine and hard machining. Large roller guides support work on short and heavy workpieces with large diameters. The large guide rails and guide shoe promote high stability even with heavy loads, the company says.
